TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT

Traffic Management Plan

The interaction between traffic and pedestrians creates a significant risk of incidents and injury at  workplaces.

Connexus, in consultation with Health and Safety Representative (HSR) and employees, will:

  • Identify all workplace locations that have mobile equipment and plant (e.g. a fork-lift)

  • advice and support the risk evaluation and documentation of controls for hazards related to traffic

  • assist in establishing a traffic management plan to document the identified traffic-related hazards.

  • ensure that the Traffic Management Plan and WHS Risk Register both contain documentation of all control methods.

  • when traffic-related hazards are discovered, evaluated, controlled, and reviewed, we will advice and assist to make sure the WHS Risk Register and Traffic Management Plan are updated and reviewed.

Following the identification and assessment of hazards and risks, we will develop a workplace traffic management plan specific to your workplace.

Controls may include:

• Barriers, bollards, and gates;

• Line marking to define access routes and traffic controls;

• Warning lights and audible alarms;

• Signage and traffic control devices;

• Administrative controls.

Our plans are based on the recommendations of Safe Work Australia, Safework NSW, SafeWork QLD, WorkSafe Vic, Worksafe NZ and Regulatory Authorities.
